Mexico (9.4K tons), Italy (5.5K tons) and Turkey (5.1K tons) were the main suppliers of metal-reinforced rubber hose imports to the United States, together comprising 45% of total imports. China, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.
From 2013 to 2024, the biggest increases were recorded for Indonesia (with a CAGR of +29.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Mexico ($56M), Turkey ($44M) and Italy ($40M) constituted the largest metal-reinforced rubber hose suppliers to the United States, together comprising 49% of total imports. China, Malaysia, India, Thailand and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 26%.
Indonesia, with a CAGR of +27.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
The average metal-reinforced rubber hose import price stood at $6,476 per ton in 2024, declining by -2.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2023 an increase of 9.7%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,667 per ton, and then declined in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2024, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($8,509 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($2,948 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at 28K tons in 2022; however, from 2023 to 2024, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Brazil (1.1K tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 4.2% share.
From 2013 to 2024, the average annual growth rate of volume to Canada amounted to +1.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (-1.0% per year) and Brazil (+2.4% per year).
In value terms, Canada ($80M) remains the key foreign market for rubber hose reinforced with metal exports from the United States, comprising 38% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($28M), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Australia, with a 10% share.
From 2013 to 2024, the average annual growth rate of value to Canada amounted to +1.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (+9.5% per year) and Australia (+9.5% per year).
In 2024, the average metal-reinforced rubber hose export price amounted to $8,600 per ton, rising by 5.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2013 to 2024, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.9%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 11%. The export price peaked in 2024 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2024, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($40,265 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($5,315 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+15.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
